Kindergarten Cusco
60 children aged 2 to 5 waiting for English, art, sports, theater and mini chef.
San Jerónimo, CuscoAbout the place
Kindergarten Cusco was born in 2011 as a private school for low-income children of the San Jerónimo district. The idea is simple: give them what only expensive schools offer: English, sports, art. Today it has 60 children aged 2 to 5 in 4 classrooms, an office, a kitchen and a playground, in an adapted house. It is run by a principal who also teaches, with 3 teachers, an assistant and a cook.
Why they need volunteers
Parents pay a monthly fee according to their means, so the school depends on volunteers willing to teach English and run sports, art, theater and mini-chef workshops, and to help in the toddlers’ classroom (age 2). Their goal: independent, happy children able to develop their abilities to the fullest in an environment full of love.
What you will help with
- Support in the 2-year-olds’ classroom

A typical day
You are assigned a classroom according to the school schedule. You help with the daily program and extracurricular activities, always alongside the classroom teacher. Mid-morning there is snack and recess, where you also look after the kids, until pickup time (13:00). Children have breakfast at home and go home for lunch. You choose the field you want to work in.
What we ask of you
All we ask is goodwill and readiness to work with the children and teachers. Language is not a problem. Bring comfortable clothes and an apron if you have one.
Getting there from the volunteer house
It is a 5-minute walk from the volunteer house. If you prefer, the bus costs S/ 1 and a taxi S/ 6.
